According to the latest report, in the first quarter of 2022, Samsung surpassed Apple in global shipments of its smartphone products.
The South Korean tech giant Samsung delivered 73.6 million smartphones in the first quarter of 2022. The closest competitor, Apple, shipped 56 million units worldwide.
Samsung has grabbed the first position Samsung grabbed a 23.4% market share, followed by Apple with 18%. However, the report shows that Apple has managed to achieve 2.2% growth compared to last year. Apple is also said to be the only manufacturer to show positive growth.

While, the Chinese tech giant Xiaomi grabbed the third position with 39.9 million units shipped taking about 12.7% market share, followed by OPPO and Vivo (27.4 million and 25.3 million units shipped, respectively).
According to Nabila Popal, research director at IDC, one of the fundamental reasons for the decline in global shipments is the current limitations of basic mobile phone components.
