Fine Technics, a well-known metal plates supplier for Samsung Electronics’ foldable phones, is challenging the hinge market.
According to the information, Fine Technics is said to make its way entering the foldable phone hinge market. A hinge is a hinge used to connect two panels. Minimizes the impact on the panel when the screen is folded and unfolded. Most of Samsung Electronics’ foldable phone hinges have been supplied by KH Vatech since the first-generation model.
The company has already provided two patents for ‘a hinge device for a portable terminal having a foldable structure’ last December.
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 3 last year and used a metal plate as before, but unlike its predecessor, the Z Fold 3 uses Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics (CFRP) instead of a metal plate for the back plate.
If everything goes well, Samsung Electronics’ foldable phone hinge market can change from the existing two-way to three-way format.
