Samsung is all set to introduce its Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 alongside Galaxy Watch 5 today. Ahead of the event, IDC has shared the Indian smartphone shipment of the Q2 2022 report. On the list, Xiaomi, realme and vivo beat Samsung.
As per the latest IDC (market research firm) report, Samsung fell to fourth place in the Indian smartphone market, due to the fall vivo placed third.
India Smartphone Market Q2 2022 Report:
- Xiaomi – 7.1 million, 20.4% market share
- relame – 6.1 million, 17.5% market share
- vivo – 5.9 million, 16.9% market share
- Samsung – 5.7 million, 16.3% market share

- Others – 6.1 million, 17.5% market share
The South Korean tech firm, Samsung shipped only 5.9 million smartphones in India in Q2 2022. The market share was the same as last Q2 2021. Samsung was India’s second biggest smartphone brand in Q2 2021, but Realme and Vivo overtook the company last quarter.
The drop may conduct chain supply issues, as the Galaxy A53 and the Galaxy A73 are not available in stock. Now, let’s check who’s the leader, so on the top of the list, Xiaomi is the number one smartphone brand, with 7.1 million unit shipments and a market share of 20.4%. While Realme shipped 6.1 million smartphones with a 17.5% market share, Vivo shipped 5.9 million smartphones.
In fifth place, OPPO shipped 4 million unit shipments with an 11.5% market share. We hope Samsung’s Q3 market share will enhance once the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4 land on the market.
