Samsung is creating a play for the “connected home” with a new service that will help people control things as assorted as their refrigerator, TV and heating system via a single smartphone app. Samsung isn’t the first firm to attempt to construct such a service Microsoft, Cisco and others have attempted same things in the past with small success.
But with smartphones now in extensive utilization, and via Samsung being a key creator of home appliances like washing machines and refrigerators, not to raise the smartphones itself, it may sense it has a great opportunity.
Samsung established HCA:
Samsung established HCA (Home Connectivity Alliance) earlier this year to make clear the smart home level ecosystem. HCA be made of a twelve other brands, adding America Standard, Arcelik, Beko, Electrolux, GE Appliances, Grundig, Haier, Leader, LG, Resideo, Trane, and Vestel. Together, these brands are assuring that all their smart models and home appliances are protecting, secure, and compatible.
At IFA 2022:
At IFA 2022, Samsung and other HCA member brands have prepared a confirmation to proclaim how a single app can be utilized to manage and track smart models from so many brands. Those models add Bespoke Cube Air Purifier, Bespoke Jet Bot AI+, Bespoke Refrigerator, and Neo QLED TVs from Samsung. They can be command utilizing the SmartThings app, which utilize the HCA standard.
The SmartThings app:
The SmartThings app can manage products across 15 division from 13 trademark and more than 40 functions on those products. Uniformly, smart home apps from those 12 other HCA trademarks can control and manage models from disparate brands and their third-party companion. Those 15 product groups add air conditioners, air purifiers, eco heating systems, dishwashers, dryers, freezers, hoods, inductions, ovens, refrigerators, robot vacuum cleaners, TVs, and washing machines.
Smart Home services:
Samsung said it will plan to finally enlarge the Smart Home services to cover home-energy, secure home access, health care, eco home applications, through the collaboration via third-party service suppliers. HCA is planning to escort models’ consistency to global markets in the first half of 2023. However, a single app can control Wi-Fi-turn on devices from HCA brands. Samsung Electronics’ Yoon Ho Choi (Product Planning at IoT Business Group) is recently helping as the HCA President and Board Chair.
