Android 13: Apps that support the new media player [Updated]

Android 13 coming up with a lot of advanced enhancements. Out of which the most noticeable change is in the redesign of the lockscreen and notification shade media player. Although, noticeably not all music, podcasts and audio apps not updated yet to support them and the list going to be expanding soon. Therefore, here we showcase the list which going to be modernised till now.

The most visible updation in media control covers the new size that’s probably taller than what we are seeing in Android 12. Although there have been compact versions, that are only in landscape mode. And basically, this allows for a larger cover art preview. However, it’s a rectangular crop instead of showing the previous square artwork.

While the icon of the responsible app appears in the top left corner of the screen. And the position of the output switcher remains opposite. Coming to the Song/podcast name and artist, that appears next in the lines below.

Newer app update

Now, if we talk about the apps that aren’t updated for Android 13 still have the wriggle. But at the same time, the bottom is very packed as every button placement is on a single line. While the progress bar is present at the far left with up to five actions appearing. Apart from this, the newer applications bound that line with the next/back or forward/rewind buttons. And the remaining actions are shown on the right.

As of Android 13’s launch recently. Therefore very few big apps got updated, and hence there are a handful of first-party clients where you can experience the new player.  Although the same has been launched on a range of Pixel devices. Google has made substantial efforts to make the operating system run effortlessly even on big screens. And that is something with which the company has struggled for a while now.

• YouTube Music.
• YouTube: Now in stable
