According to the new report released by Counterpoint, Qualcomm dominated the AP market in Q2 2022 in terms of revenue with 44% while the South Korean tech firm, Samsung shifted to the fourth position with 8%.
The second position was claimed by Apple with 23% of the revenue. Below you can check the pie circle. The share for Qualcomm has grown 56% YoY in Q2 2022 driven by the higher premium mix which has led to growth in the ASPs.
The partnership between Qualcomm and Samsung for the Galaxy S22 lineup will give a huge bump in revenues for the premium tier. The South Korean brand has a broad high-end portfolio with the Galaxy S series and Z foldable series.
Now, grabbing the third position, MediaTek has captured a 22% share in the AP market. In terms of Smartphone AP Market Share by Shipments in Q2 2022, Mediatek ranks first with 39%, Qualcomm ranks the second spot with 29%, Apple came in the third spot with 14% market share; Unisoc ranks fourth and Samsung ranks fifth.
