Talking about the usage of both features, then both of them have their own advantages. The VO2 Max feature is helpful in showing how much oxygen you have consumed during the exercise. While the fall detection function is useful in adventure, hill climbing, cycling, trekking, or other outdoor activities. It will send messages or calls when the wearable detects hard falls.

FALL DETECTION

Now the same become part of Samsung watches as well. Notably, the fall detection function uses a sensor to detect any surface fall.
How does it work
It works by automatically sending messages or calls in order to seek assistance from users’ SOS numbers. In case they are not responding within 60 seconds, after they hard fall, then it will start vibrating, pop up, or sound the watch for 60 seconds.
With the help of GPS signals and emergency contacts. It makes it easier for your beloved ones to find out your exact location and what happened to you.
Steps to activate Fall detection
To activate the function on your new smartwatch, go through the following bellow steps:
- Open the Galaxy Wearable App
- Go to Watch settings
- Choose advanced features
- Tap on SOS in the Advanced features
- Choose the second option
- Add emergency contact
- Click on Make SOS calls to
- Lastly, click on the High sensitivity option, there you find ‘Hard fall detection’
VO2 MAX
It helps to check the quantity of oxygen that the user would earn while doing a workout or exercise. It measures millimetres of oxygen per kilogram. Whereas, the higher number is better. Notably, the feature is very essential in order to build better health and endurance. This feature is added in Galaxy Watch 4 and in Watch 5, in the running exercise section respectively.
How does it work
The functioning of VO2 Max automatically initiates when you start running on a flat surface. It will collect the VO2 Max score. On the other hand, if you are not performing on a flat surface that has a good GPS signal then it will not collect oxygen intake. Further, it will divide the overall score based on the user’s age. To be added, for the age of 30 to 39, a score below 34 is very poor. whereas, a score above 59.8 is superior.
