Another ISOCELL gem is added to the list by Samsung System LSI. It is also 200MP ISOCELL and is referred to as ISOCELL HPX. It is inbuilt with features such as 8K video recording at 30 frames per second alongside Tetra 2 Pixel binning technology. Also offers 12.5MP and 50MP resolution modes for different lighting variations.
As we heard a lot of rumours that upcoming the flagship S23 Ultra equips with a 200MP primary camera. However not with ISOCELL HPX as it exclusively announced for China. Whereas the sensor on the same has been created for System LSI customers.
Samsung ISOCELL HPX Specifications
Assuming that the ISOCELL HPX is reserved for smartphones developed by Chinese brands, it’s probably not a big loss for the rest of the world. By the looks of it, Samsung focused primarily on the pixel count and creating a small sensor at the cost of performance in low-light conditions.
Considering Samsung ISOCELL HPX is kept reserved for Chinese smartphones. Looking the same it seems like the company primarily focuses on pixel count. Also creating smaller sensors at cost of performance in low light conditions.
Additionally, the company has also revealed that it is equipped with small 056- micron pixels. And one of the USPs is that the sensor has the capability to reduce the area by 20%.
Here it sensor can take advantage of the 200MP resolution. Simultaneously it can also utilise the pixel binding technology in order to convert to 1.12-micron pixels for 50MP shooting modes in low light. Additionally, it can add more pixels into one 2.24-micron pixel for a 12.5MP mode, as per Samsung.
Several other features come along with 200MP ISOCELL HPX including 8K video recording at 30 frames per second. Followed by 4K and FHD recording, dual HDR, Smart ISO, and Super QPD autofocus.
