Recently, Samsung Electronics opened SmartThings Home in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. By doing this, it becomes the first Multi-Device experience space in the Middle East. SmartThings Home Dubai is a 278-square-meter space, located on the first floor of the Dubai Butterfly Building. It is the same premises where the Samsung Middle East Headquarters is also located.
Through this, visitors now explore the 15 different SmartThings scenarios. As it demonstrates the features to enhance the lifestyles of local customers in the Middle East. It includes Prayer Mode and Sandstorm Mode which is the very unique mode.
SmartThings Home, Customized for the Culture and Climate of the Middle East
In addition to this, SmartThings Home Dubai is categorised into four different zones. Home Office, Living Room & Kitchen, Gaming and Contents Studio. And inside these zones visitors can explore 15 SmartThings scenarios. It showcases by connecting SmartThings to various Samsung devices. It consists of a range of mobile devices home appliances and even display products.
Additionally, it also features exclusive zones customised for local residents’ lifestyles like Prayer Mode and Sandstorm Mode. Samsung Electronics Middle East Headquarters and Samsungs Research’s Samsung R&D Institute Jordan. This is very specific for consumers focusing on the local market.
Sandstorm mode
Talking about the Sandstorm mode then it is created for the frequent sand and dust storms in the Middle East. During a sandstorm, simply switch one button on the SmartThings app to enjoy a clean indoor environment. When this mode is activated, smart blinds block the dust from outside. Concurrently, the indoor purifier starts to run and a robot vacuum cleaner begins to tidy up the home.
Prayer Mode
Prayer mode is intended to develop for SALAH, which is the prayer of Muslims. It happens five times every day at certain intervals. And with the SmartThing app, gives a user notification on their smartwatch when it’s time to pray. Thereby, the user can create a suitable environment suitable which is to be specific to prayer. This unique mode activates the smart blinds, adjust the lighting of the room and turns off the TV.
Samsung Opens the First SmartThings Experience Zone in the Middle East
Notably, the event of the opening of SmartThings Home Dubai is celebrated on October 6, 2022. This event is attended by more than 100 visitors. This includes the media, partner companies, government officials and influencers.
At this event, the President of Samsung Gulf Electronics Seong Hyun Lee said, “Starting with SmartThings Home Dubai, which is the first SmartThings experience zone in the Middle East, we plan to expand the SmartThings experience to major stores, such as brand shops, to continue our effort to explore meaningful experiences through connectivity in the region,”
