Considering the biggest smartphone camera sensor maker brands globally then Samsung System LSI and Sony are the major in the list. On one hand, Samsung comes up with its camera sensor namely ISOCELL. While Sony lags somewhere in terms of its smartphone camera sensors. Now, reportedly, the Japanese tech firm alter its way in order to better compete with Samsung. Additionally, Sony (Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation) discloses (via FoneArena) the fact that its upcoming mobile camera sensors will be going to feature the LYTIA branding.
To be informed here, the term LYTIA comprises two words: Lyra and Light. The company also reveals that the LYTIA branding would definitely help people in order to understand the importance of its camera sensors more conveniently. Therefore it plans to bring a camera sensor that provides an enhanced user experience that is beyond imagination.
While Sony somewhat removes the IMX prefix in certain of its camera sensor models, also parallelly replace it with LYTIA in the coming future. Although, the company has not revealed its future course of action. But we will expect the same to happen sometime next year.
Also, Samsung has been tackling out with megapixels, releasing 108MP and 200MP sensors. Sony subsequently increases the size of its camera sensors. It is intended to offer a higher native pixels size for enhanced low-light image and video quality. Factful Samsung’s biggest ISOCELL sensor measures 1/1.12-inch. Currently, Sony has released a 1-inch sensor that is used in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra respectively.
