According to market tracker TrendForce, the South Korean tech giant, Samsung is the leader in the DRAM industry sector in Q3 2022. Samsung’s revenue was US$7.40 billion (approximately RMB 52.096 billion), a 33.5% decrease from the previous month.
The total DRAM industry revenue in the third quarter of 2022 was 18.19 billion US dollars (about 128.058 billion yuan), a decrease of 28.9% from the previous quarter.
SK Hynix, Samsung’s smaller domestic rival, stayed in the second spot with US$5.24 billion (approximately RMB 36.89 billion), a decrease of 25.2% from the previous month.

In terms of revenue, the revenue of the three major OEMs Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron were all lower than in the second quarter. US chipmaker Micron Technology Inc. was the No. 3 player with a total revenue of US$4.81 billion.
TrendForce said that the operating profit margins of the three major manufacturers are still at a relatively high level.
