Samsung Electronics has officially started the Wi-Fi calling (VoWiFi – Voice Over Wi-Fi) feature on Galaxy smartphones in Italy. With the Wi-Fi calling on Galaxy smartphones you can make or receive phone calls over the Wi-Fi network.
If you’re in a strong Wi-Fi radius, you would get better indoor coverage and faster connectivity. This brings you a clear conversation.
VoWiFi is fully integrated into the new One UI 5.0 interface released with Android 13. Once the service is enabled, the transition from one network to another will take place on the basis of preset thresholds, in order to avoid too frequent passages between the two VoWifi and VoLTE network technologies, that is, the technology that allows voice calls to be made on a 4G network.
The “Wi-Fi call” function guarantees the support of network services such as, for example, call waiting, customer care, voicemail and calls to emergency numbers.
Meanwhile, it allows optimized management of indoor coverage by the operator in areas with poor cellular network coverage and consequent optimization of the quality of voice service.
