Reportedly, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger has met with Kyung Kye-Hyun, the president of the Samsung Electronics Device Solution (DS) Division. While Kim Woo-Joon, the president of the Network Business Department of the Device Experience (DX) Division also present. This meeting is done in order to discuss cooperation in the semiconductor field.
On their arrival in Korea from Taiwan, Gelsinger visited Samsung Electronics. He visited Hwaseong and Suwon campuses, where they meet with Samsung Electronics executives, including Kyung and Kim. The agenda of the meeting is to discuss the ways to ride out a global economic slump.
Notably, Samsung and Intel are top companies with respect to the global semiconductor industry. Since both, they are the No. 1 players in the memory semiconductor and central processing unit (CPU) sectors, respectively. As they compete and cooperate simultaneously at the same time in the global semiconductor market.
This is the second visit of Gelsinger’s to Korea this year, followed by the one that happen in May earlier this year. While during that visit to Korea in May, the Intel CEO met with Samsung chairman Lee Jae Yong whereby they discuss cooperation in next-generation memories, system semiconductors, foundry, PCs, and mobile devices.
Although, in this meeting, Lee did not meet with the Intel CEO this time. Since he returned from a business trip to the UAE on the same day.
