Google is now finally bringing Material You design for its News Application on a tablet view. According to the information, the company has started updating its Google News App with the latest version 5.71 update.
For tablet view, the Google News App will get a navigation rail with MD3 components. For now, it is only available in landscape view. Apart from the rail, the content of a page is now separated from the header and navigation rail by a container with rounded corners on top.
Also, the company has updated the shape of the search bar. What’s noteworthy is that Google continues to implement the navigation rail in landscape orientation on phones, as we’ve already seen in Google TV (and Google Drive.
An updated Material You navigation bar was already present in the app last May but it is still not available to end users.
