After making its presence in beta last year, Google has made significant changes to the redesign of Android Auto. It is now opting the full support for one of Google’s own mapping apps. As Waze now starts backing Android Auto’s “Coolwalk” dashboard.
It starts rolling out now that parallelly with the latest beta update of Waze. Also, the mapping service begins to contribute to Android Auto. Talking about the change, then it appears recently for many users. Although, it won’t be visible to everyone until it reaches the Waze stable update channel.
Notably, when the Android Auto dashboard redesigns came being in the knowledge as “Coolwalk.” The same first debuted in the form of beta and came without support for Waze. On the hand, users can still able to run the mapping app. Whereas, they can’t see support for the new paned interface on the Android Auto home screen. That subsequently showcases mapping apps parallelly with music apps and other information. Despite this, a pop-up begins appearing a few back later into the beta that depicts that Waze support was coming “soon.”
Although, at this point, it is not clear when this support will arrive in the stable version of the Waze app. While it does not specifically matter at this point in time.
As of late January, Google still doesn’t roll out support for “Coolwalk” to a large number of users. Despite it revealing the launch of the update after New Year’s. Higher than 80-90% of Android Auto users, still don’t have access to the dashboard redesign.
It is being said that Waze being the key app for Android Auto for a very long. Therefore, it seems within the dimension of the reason that Google could have been waiting for this update to come. However, it remains to be seen in the coming days.
