LCD TV panel prices are static for the last three months, and now it is predicted to rise a little from March to the second quarter. Although, the LCD-making capacity in the display industry remarkably exceeds the demand. Therefore, LCD companies are speculated to have operating losses till the first half of the year.
DSCC, which is a market research company recently claims that the price of LCD TV panels will tend to rise the next month. Also, the price index of LCD TV panels in March is predicted to reach 3. Notably, this is higher than the low of 35.9 in September last year. While in June the price takes a jump with respect to the same period of last year.
In the interim, the DSCC has their notion that, although worst got over with respect to panel pricing. Whereas, the making capacity will still be going to surpass the demand in the coming future. On the other hand, LCD making operating losses are predicted to continue till the first half of this year.
DSCC predicts a steady rise in LCD TV panel prices
Additionally, the Display supply chain inventory in the first quarter is at a high level. Whereas, if panel makers are able to maintain low utilization rates while inventory rotation going to continue. Then, in that case, DSCC predicts a steady rise in LCD TV panel prices from March to Q1.
Moving ahead, the average price of LCD TV panels in the first quarter is predicted to be 1.1% more than the last year. Thus, the March price is 7.3% more than the price in December last year. Similarly, prices in December last year were also 12.1% more than those of last year September.
In addition to the info, by January 2023, the price of 1-inch panels had grown. But parallelly the premium per square meter tends to decrease by 32% to $75. This is the result, as the price of 5 inches keeps unchanged for five months. While, the price of 21-inch is speculated to grow from April, whereas, the price of 23-inch panels is predicted to rise more.
