Update 1 – February 13, 2023: The Pause USB Power Delivery feature is now available for more Samsung devices including Galaxy A73 5G (via NLTech), Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 4. Some users confirmed that it comes after using Samsung’s 45W USB PD charger. Also, to use this feature you need to update the Game Booster app to the latest version 5.0.03.0.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series brings an important feature that allows users to Pause USB Power Delivery. Yes, you read that right, first spotted by Malaysia-based YouTube channel NL Tech, Samsung added a new feature on the Galaxy S23 lineup and it will be found in Samsung’s “Game Booster” menu.
The official description is “To prevent phone heating, pause charging when a USB Power Delivery enabled charger is connected and the battery is over 20%.”
As shown in the video, if you enable this setting it reduced power consumption while gaming from 17W down to a mere 6W. Apparently, it works on any USB PD charger.
Maybe it helps with higher-performing games. The company hasn’t informed us anything about this feature. So, let’s see if the battery bypass is arriving with One UI 5.1 or if we need to wait for Galaxy Z Fold 5.
