Samsung is reportedly launching a new Galaxy S Fan Edition (FE) smartphone in H2 2023. According to the information, the company may launch the Galaxy S23 FE around August or September. Currently, production-related information is now available.
The Galaxy S FE is a low-end version of the Galaxy S. The first FE product, the Galaxy S20 FE, was released in October 2020. It is known that this year, there is a high possibility that the product will be released a little earlier than this.
The first Samsung Fan Edition device was the Galaxy S20 FE and after a year of launch sales recorded at 10 million units. The Galaxy S21 FE was launched last year and it was sold only in some areas such as the United States and Europe.
Samsung skipped Galaxy S22 FE and the launch of this device was previously scheduled for October last year but due to a shortage of semiconductors, it wasn’t launched. Some reports claimed that the Galaxy S FE edition would be discontinued.
However, it is unclear whether Samsung Electronics will expand the Galaxy S22 FE launch countries this year. As global smartphone demand is expected to be sluggish this year, there is a possibility that the strategy will differ by region.
