Recently, Google has introduced a new tool that certainly going to help the future of eSIM on Android. As it got the added support for eSIM transfer. However, eSIM has been there for a long time ago, but simultaneously, the support and handling vary across different Android devices and carriers.

Google describes that the support for eSIM transfer is coming to Android “later this year.” Tentatively alongside a later release of Android. The tech Search giant explains that the new support enables users to transfer their service between devices virtually. While it also makes it works off of the global standard built out by the GSMA. Meanwhile, the European carrier Deutsche Telekom was among the first to adopt support for the same.
And later this year, building on GSMA’s global standard, we’re bringing a new eSIM transfer capability to Android that allows users to quickly and securely transfer their mobile plan to a new device, without having to swap a physical SIM card. Deutsche Telekom is taking the first step in using this industry standard to enable a simple and secure transfer with eSIM for the Android ecosystem.
