Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 as the world’s smartphones that offered an official IP rating for water resistance. Being the tech innovator, Samsung stepped ahead while maintaining the same legacy with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, as both of these debuted with an IPX8 rating. Now, taking things further at another vertex this year. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 probably be dust-resistant too.
In addition to this, Samsung’s strategically in the process to develop a new hinge for its fifth-gen foldable. The same is said to be a waterdrop hinge on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Fip 5. Apparently, the same allows the phones to close at a very minor gap when shut to folded. Whereas, this upgradation will make the phone significantly thinner and lighter.
It’s not over here, since, as per one of the tipster leaks, the gap-less design of the forthcoming fifth gen foldable, probably allows Samsung to offer an official IP rating for dust resistance (likely IP68). While the company currently monitoring the technical workability of the same. And if it is executed successfully then it would be the world’s first dust resistant foldable of this year.
Samsung’s foldable consistently improves with Z Fold 5 & Flip 5
