Samsung Pay was first introduced in back 2015 and now it has been growing by 1.5 times every year since its launch, exceeding KRW 2 trillion in cumulative payment amount in just one year. According to the information, at the end of February 2023, the cumulative amount of Samsung Pay usage reached 219 trillion won.
Samsung Pay helps you to make payments easily and it now becomes your own mobile wallet that safely stores ID cards, various tickets, and more. It also supports both Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near-Field Communication (NFC) methods for the first time in the world .
This change lets you choose the safest way to do payment for products and services with Samsung Pay. Samsung says “Users of eight domestic credit card companies, including Samsung, Shinhan, KB, Lotte, Nonghyup, Hyundai, Hana, and BC Card can use Samsung Pay from shops in rural areas to coffee shops in large cities without issuing new cards”.
As per the latest stats, there are currently about 3 million card merchants across the country that can use Samsung Pay. You can pay with Samsung Pay at any store that accepts credit cards.
