According to the latest report, the material set used in Samsung M12 is all set to use in the upcoming iPhone 15. Material sets are used by Samsung for the OLED panels it puts in iPhones and Samsung smartphones, a new one is usually added each year for the latest smartphones.
The iPhone 15 is expected later this year in its usual launch window featuring an all-new lineup – iPhone 15, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra. The standard variant is said to arrive in a 6.1-inch size, the larger, 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus will arrive with a bigger battery.
OLED material set refers to the composition of OLED materials that panel makers apply to smartphones. The OLED material set consists of a light emitting layer and a common layer, such as dopant (light emitting body), host (light emitting layer), prime (auxiliary layer) of individual pixels of red (R), green (G), and blue (B).
Samsung Electronics foldable phones Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, which will be released in the second half of the year, are likely to use the same M12 material set as last year’s Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. The Elec report confirmed that the Samsung Display is developing M14, a material set for Apple. This set is likely to be applied to the iPhone 16 series.
