Samsung’s 2023 Neo QLED rewarded by ‘Reducing CO2’ Certification

The year 2023’s six Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED 4K models are Achieves ‘Reducing CO2’ Certification From the Carbon Trust, as they prove their self that they have a reduced carbon footprint compared to their predecessors, based on the cradle-to-grave footprint.

Samsung trying hard to achieve its sustainability goals, resulting which this year Samsung expected more than 20 models to earn certifications. Recently the Korean tech giant announced that six models in its 2023 Neo QLED lineup have achieved the “Reducing CO2” certification from the Carbon Trust.

What is the “Reducing CO2” certification is about

The Carbon Trust is a global climate consultancy founded by the UK government with the mission to respond to climate change and reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs). The organization calculates its carbon footprint certification by evaluating the amount of GHG generated1 throughout the entire product lifecycle, ranging from production to disposal, based on internationally recognized standards. Notably, the label does not take CO2 offsets into consideration.

The Reducing CO2 label is awarded to a product when its carbon footprint is proven to have been reduced year on year, a testament to Samsung’s efforts to enhance sustainability throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Samsung expands its sustainability endeavors, with the 2023 Neo QLED  

As Samsung aims to expand the scope of these efforts, it expects to earn carbon footprint certification for more than 20 models this year across its latest lineup of QLED, Crystal UHD, and OLED TVs, as well as monitors and signage products. The 2023 Neo QLED models obtained the certification in recognition of Samsung’s efforts to reduce the products’ weight and power consumption during the use phase when compared to their predecessors. The six certified models include three Neo QLED 8K and three Neo QLED 4K screens.

Two years before in 2021, Samsung Neo QLED became the first screen to receive certification among 4K and higher resolution TVs. The following year, 16 models across Samsung’s 2022 lineup, including 11 models from the QLED, Crystal UHD, and Lifestyle TV range, as well as five monitors and signage products, also obtained the certification.

Samsung is the global TV leader consecutively

With the celebrating news, it is even more admirable that Samsung is the global TV leader for the 17th consecutive year. Its Visual Display Business continues to introduce eco-conscious products and practices for its display products. The sustainability endeavor has been observed in bespoke and other facilitating products as well.
