Samsung Foldable phones facing hinge problem once again

Samsung Foldable Hinge

Samsung’s foldable devices are the best phones you can buy, but reportedly these devices suffer from an annoying issue. According to the user’s complaint, when you fully unfold the device, there’s a visible crease down the middle, where the hinge mechanism resides.

On Samsung’s official community site, users have complained about this hinge problem on Galaxy Fold 4s, Galaxy Z Flips, and Galaxy Fold 2s. All of the complaints are the same, that the foldable Samsung phones do not fully unfold.

What’s the solution?

The solution may be visible in the next foldable devices – the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. The South Korean tech giant has a patent for the waterdrop-shaped hinge, granted in 2016, and several reports have confirmed that Samsung appears to finally be ready to apply it on one of its foldable smartphones.

Samsung has implemented a “waterdrop” design for the phone’s hinge and even started testing, allowing it to be completely flat when unfolded, and without a noticeable gap between its halves when folded.
