Something very freshly baked is out for Galaxy device users, as it seems Samsung has started updating some of its apps with support for Android 14-based One UI 6. Though the update isn’t yet widely updated but the pre-installed Calculator app on all Galaxy phones and tablets has apparently received a new update that adds Android 14 and One UI 6.x support.
A calculator app update is available which seems a little odd. Another thing that stands out here is that the changelog mentions that the update adds data unit (such as megabytes and kilobytes) conversion capabilities, but the Calculator app has had that feature for some time now.
Samsung is beginning to update apps with support for the next version of Android and One UI ahead of time, as it’s something the company has done often in the past, as well. More importantly, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the One UI 6.0 beta program could start earlier than expected.
Last year in August, the One UI 5.0 beta program was launched officially while the One UI 4 beta program kicked off in September of 2021. Based on this we cannot simply exhale the exact plan of the Korean tech giant. The only thing we cannot do is wait for the concrete information on the One UI 6.0 beta schedule instead of getting too excited right now to avoid any disappointment later on. Expectingly it could happen in July.
