Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 to use Phoenix cores and made on TSMC N3E Process

Qualcomm is all set to launch the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in October this year. Ahead of the official debut, rumours about Qualcomm’s next year’s flagship have started appearing online. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC is expected to launch sometime in late 2024.

According to the Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the chipset will be based on TSMC’s new 3nm process node. The SoC is also said to pack Nuvia’s Phoenix cores. Here are the details.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Key Details

The chipset will have two Phoenix cores and six Phoenix M cores. Phoenix cores are a new generation of ARM-based CPU cores designed by Nuvia. However, the company has licensed its technology to Qualcomm, so the cores may be given a different name. Meanwhile, the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip is said to be based on the 4nm process.
