Good News: Galaxy S24 series may get seven major OS upgrades

Samsung is expected to provide seven years of major OS upgrade support for the Galaxy S24 Series. Yes, you read that right, a recent report by Android Headlines suggests the upcoming Galaxy S24 series may receive 7 years of updates.

For now, the Google Pixel 8 lineup is only eligible for this plan. If it goes well, the South Korean tech giant will offer  Android 14 up to Android 21.

The publication, however, didn’t confirm if this includes just security updates or the full Android/One UI/feature package.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series specifications

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S24 lineup is expected to come with a 120Hz AMOLED display on all models. The base S24 is all set to arrive with a 6.2-inch FHD+ panel and Exynos 2400 chip (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some regions), while the Plus model steps up with a larger 6.7-inch QHD+ display and the same chip options.

These models will come with a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto cameras and 25W wired (15W wireless) charging.

Under the hood, the S24 Ultra to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a flatter 6.8-inch QHD+ display, and a quad-camera system headlined by a 200MP sensor.

It also packs a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, an S Pen stylus, and a larger 5000mAh battery with 45W wired charging.
