Google introduced notification channels with Android 8.0 Oreo, and it’s one feature that helps users manage notifications on their devices.
One UI 6.1 update disables an important feature for the S24 lineup
Samsung added a toggle to enable or disable notification channels but this is turned off by default. It has also been renamed to categories so users might not be aware about it, as reported by Android Police.
The latest One UI 6.1 update disables this feature on the Galaxy S24 series. For now, this feature is turned off by default on the Galaxy S24, and the issue seems to have appeared only after the One UI 6.1 update.
The update only disables the feature, and doesn’t cause any other issue but it can still be a hassle to users who aren’t aware about it.

- Open Settings > Notifications.
