Samsung is now pushing out a new update to Nearby Device Scanning. The latest June 2024 update changelog fixes stability-related issues and gets support for Galaxy Ring. Earlier, the Nearby Device Scanning was updated with notifications and show you a pop-up on the screen whenever it detects a Matter-compatible device nearby. The all-new update to the feature is being rolled out through Galaxy Store, which bumps the app’s version to 11.1.16.10.

Samsung claims the Galaxy ring can last up to nine days on a single charge, significantly outlasting the Oura ring, which currently offers about five days of battery life. However, actual battery performance may vary depending on the specific features in use, and thorough testing will be needed to verify these claims under different conditions.

FCC certification records reveal that the Galaxy Ring will come with three different battery sizes based on the ring size selected. These battery capacities are 17 mAh, 18.5 mAh, and 22 mAh for larger models, providing more space for a bigger battery. This variety in battery sizes aims to cater to different user preferences and needs.
