Samsung and Google Unveils Powerful New Galaxy Chromebook Plus

Google has partnered with Samsung to launch a new premium Chromebook that pushes the boundaries of thin-and-light design. The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus combines sophisticated hardware with exclusive AI-powered productivity features.

While Samsung previously offered Chromebooks under the “Plus” branding, this new device is part of Google’s broader Chromebook Plus initiative, which launched last year with other manufacturers like Acer, Asus, HP, and Lenovo.

The device is powered by an Intel Core 3 Raptor Lake-R processor, delivering performance comparable to a 13th-generation Core i3. The system comes equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Running ChromeOS, users can access the full Chrome browser, Android apps, and Linux applications through containerization. Battery life impresses at up to 13 hours per charge.

The laptop features a 15.6-inch OLED display running at 60Hz. While the screen specs are modest, the device stands out with its ultra-slim design. At just 11.8mm thick and weighing 2.58 pounds, it’s remarkably portable for its size class – coming close to the MacBook Air’s 11.3mm profile.

A standout feature is the new Quick Insert key, which offers contextual functionality across applications. In Google Docs, it provides rapid access to AI writing tools, emojis, and browsing history. The key also supports quick calculations and conversions, with image generation capabilities planned for future updates.

The device comes loaded with AI-powered features, including PDF summarization, Gemini chat integration, Live Translate, enhanced video calling capabilities, and Recap functionality to boost productivity.
